Blue Wing Olive mayflies are without a doubt one of the most prolific mayflies in the west. The double wing posts in this pattern make it a lot easier to see in riffles and/or low light conditions. The green mylar tinsel adds a bit of flash and the long, split tails add a bit of realism. A good pattern for both tailwaters and freestone rivers and streams. In sizes 16, 18 & 20.
TIP: If the BWO's are really hatching, try fishing a smaller Blue Wing Olive CDC Emerger as a dropper about 18" behind this fly.
