Grasshoppers are a major food source for trout during the summer and fall here in New Mexico and throughout the country. The Charlie Boy Hopper is one of the best flies to imitate these insects. Our favorite color for this fly is the tan variant, which matches our grasshoppers perfectly. Consisting mainly of foam, this fly is incredibly buoyant and easy to see making it a great top fly in a “dry-dropper” rig. We have fished this fly everywhere from small creeks to larger rivers, with great success. Available in size 10 and 12.
