Basically a Chernobyl Ant with wings, the "Chubby" is a foam body, attractor dry fly that works well as a stonefly or hopper imitation. Due to the good flotation, the larger sizes are an ideal choice for a dry-dropper rig and the smaller sizes will bring fish to the surface on their own as a caddis, cricket or grasshopper. The large, white poly-floss wings also make this pattern easy to see, even in the most adverse conditions. The Chubby Chernobyl has become an extremely popular pattern here in the Rocky Mountains.
