The Colonel Kurtz is a deadly, intruder style trout streamer (the hook swings loose in the tail section). Imitating a small baitfish, a leech or possibly a crayfish, big trout can’t refuse the Kurtz. In the fall, winter and spring seasons, this fly is deadly on the swing. This fly will cast well with a 6 to 7 weight rod and sinking line, while still being light enough to cast with a 5 weight rod and a floating line. Tied with a size 6, short shank hook.
