The original Pheasant Tail nymph is one of the most popular nymph patterns in the history of fly fishing for the simple reason that it works almost anywhere. Why? It imitates almost every specie of mayfly extremely well and can also double as any number of other bugs. The Full Flashback type, with a gold bead and a full-body flashback is an improved version of the classic design that seems to work much better than the original. It does especially well in higher or off-colored water conditions. Available in size 10, 12, 14 & 20.
TIP: Don't be afraid of the size 20, especially in tailwaters. Going to the smaller size often can make the difference between getting strikes or not.
