Chironomids (larger) and midges (smaller), which are actually the same from an entomologist's point of view, are often a trout's primary food source. This simple pattern is a good representation of the larval and/or pupal stages of these bugs. The wire ribbing matches their segmented bodies and the white beadhead represents the gills of an emerging pupa. The larger sizes are a must-have for indicator rigs in lakes and ponds while the smaller sizes will do a great job of representing midges in most rivers and streams, especially in tailwaters. Red available in sizes 10 thru 20. Black and Tan in sizes 12 thru 20.
