The Pheasant Tail nymph pattern was designed in England by Frank Sawyer to imitate a number of nymph species and has been a classic for many years. This soft hackle version, tied on a competition jig hook with a black tungsten bead, is a great improvement over the original. With natural, muted colors and great underwater movement, it gets down quickly and doesn't hang up on the bottom as much as a regular style nymph. This pattern works well in a multi fly nymph rig under an indicator, in a euro-nymphing system or in a dry-dropper set-up. Available in sizes 12, 14, 16 & 18.
